Hywel Jones Tree Services began in 2013 as a family business founded by Hywel and his partner Kate, working out of Torfaen in the heart of South Wales. What started as a passion for trees and the Welsh landscape has grown into a trusted team of qualified tree surgeons with more than 40 years of combined experience between them.
We are proud to be part of the Pontypool and Torfaen community. From the wooded slopes around Pontypool Park and the ancient woodlands of the Eastern Valley to the leafy gardens of Cwmbran, Newport and Cardiff, we understand the trees that shape our region and the weather that tests them. Yes. We provide a 24-hour emergency tree service across South Wales for storm-damaged, fallen or dangerous trees. If a tree is threatening your home, blocking access or has come down in bad weather, call us on 07525 855 019 at any time, day or night, and we will respond as quickly as possible.
Possibly. Some trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or sit within a conservation area, which means council consent is required before work begins. Don't worry — we check this for you as part of our survey and can advise on, or help you with, any application to your local authority. We never carry out work that would put you at risk of breaching the rules.
Always. Leaving your property clean and tidy is part of the job, not an extra. We chip the brash on site, and timber can either be removed completely or processed into seasoned firewood — whichever suits you best. You will hardly know we were there, except for a beautifully cared-for garden.
